How to Find the Right Domain
Locating the Right Domain
Finding the right domain is made simple on DN Bank via our easy to browse category system or keyword search tool. If you know the keyword(s) that you want in your domain then you can enter this in the search field provided. Select the option “Advanced Search” to get more options for searching. In advanced search you are able to search domains in specific extensions, limit the number of characters, and also search domains with your choice of keyword at the beginning or end of the domain name, as well as other options.
If you are not sure what exact keywords you would like in your domains and/or are interested in the available domains that you may not be thinking of, then browsing the categories is probably the better option for you. Select the category that best fits your target audience. You will be presented with a list of domains and also other related or more specific categories.
Types of Domain Names
There are essentially three styles of domain names that will likely be best suited for your e-business: 1) keyword domains composed of 1 or more search keywords; 2) single dictionary domains that are litteral or symbolic words; and, 3) short brandable domain that is either a pronounceable concept (i.e. made up) name or a name composed of parts of 2 words.
The benefits of keyword domains is that you will benefit from type-in traffic (or visitors who type the words directly into the browser, by-passing the search engine altogether) and SEO for those keywords will be that much easier.
Symbolic one word domains are usually the most expensive because they are rare and most difficult to come by. The benefits are that they make an almost immediate impact and are easiest to remember. Some domains in this area are Amazon.com, Overstock.com, and others.
The benefits of concept names is that you get a short marketable domain name that can become a unique brand for your e-business (i.e. Zappos, Travelocity, etc.). These names are generally cheaper but the shortest ones are going up in price as they become more and more rare.
